Our services begin with a phone call from the family, a referral source or a friend concerned about the health and well being of the prospective client. At this time, we gather information necessary to match the client with appropriate assisted living homes. Diagnoses, medications, and the client's functional abilities are discussed in the private consultation. Financial information and preferred geographic locations in Tucson are also determined. Based on the criteria, we select homes from our database of personally screened and approved homes that match the needs of the client. We set up an appointment to meet family members to tour the homes. This is a critical stage in our placement process. While we travel to each home we speak to the clients about care homes in general and also about the specific homes we will visit that day. During the tour, which averages two to three hours, we learn much more about the potential resident than we do in our half-hour telephone interview. Our services are provided at no charge to the family. If a placement is made, a one-time referral fee is paid by the care home. If no placement is made, we have served our mission to educate the public about this level of care. We make referrals for other services in the community as necessary to assist families in gaining the help they need.
